Caitlin Clark reached and surpassed the 3,000-point mark in her college career on Wednesday night off a transition 3-pointer with 6:08 left in the third quarter of Iowas 67-58 win over Iowa State.
The bucket put Clark at 3,002 career points.
Clark is now just the 15th player in NCAA Division I womens basketball history to score 3,000 points.

I knew I had the opportunity to do that coming into tonight, Clark said, per the Associated Press. It’s cool, especially to do it here. I have a lot of family in attendance. As long as we win. I probably wouldn’t be happy with scoring 3,000 points in a loss.
On X, Clark added a message about her excitement over winning a rivalry game.
“HAWKEYE STATEEEEEE !!!! What a battle !!! Proud of our group,” she wrote.
She also received a note of congratulations from rapper Lil Wayne.
“Caitlin Clark congrats on 3k!!! U a f–n dogg dogg!!” he wrote on X.

Caitlin just draws so much attention, said Kate Martin, per the AP. All eyes are on her.
The location of the momentous occasion seemed fitting, with Wednesdays game being played in Ames, Iowa, a mere 41 miles away from Clarks hometown of Des Moines.
Clark came into the game averaging 29.0 points per game this season.
Iowa next plays Big Ten rival Wisconsin on Sunday.
