Bronny James expected to make USC debut Sunday just four months after cardiac arrest
The Bronny James era is about to begin at USC.
Less than four months after the freshman, the son of NBA superstar LeBron James, suffered cardiac arrest while practicing on the Trojans’ campus, he is likely going to make his collegiate debut.
USC head coach Andy Enfield told reporters Thursday that James is likely to play on Sunday when the Trojans take on Long Beach State.
A final decision will be made after he goes through Fridays practice and is again evaluated.
All indications are he feels great, and he looks good, Enfield said, according to the Los Angeles Times.
James, 19, suffered cardiac arrest and collapsed while briefly losing consciousness during a team practice at Galen Center on July 24.
He received immediate medical attention and was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, remaining there for three days before he was discharged.

Bronny James is now cleared by his doctors for a full return to basketball, the James family said in a statement on Nov. 30. Bronny will have a final evaluation with USC staff this week, resume practice next week and return to games soon after.
