Giancarlo Stanton photo sparks Jonathan Papelbon ‘million dollar bet’ taunt
Ex-Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon wants a piece of Giancarlo Stanton.
“Hey @stoolpresidente Dave Portnoy Im putting a million dollar bet on the under of total HRs for Mike (Giancarlo) Stanton when the 2024 season starts. You in?? #EasyMoney,” Papelbon said in a post on X accompanied by a picture of Stanton looking lean in a black tank top.
Giancarlo Stanton appears leaner in the picture that Papelbon posted, which The Post’s Greg Joyce reported is the offseason plan for Stanton.

Stanton played in 101 games last season, but hit a career low .191 to accompany his 24 homers.
