2023 NFL MVP odds: Where Brock Purdy stands after 49ers nightmare
A turnover-filled disaster for Brock Purdy turned him from MVP favorite to an afterthought in just a few minutes.
The Baltimore Ravens’ swarming defense kept the 49ers’ offense off balance, and a four-interception performance moved Purdy from a clear -225 favorite to 13/1 on FanDuel Sportsbook, the fourth-best odds, tied with Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
Meanwhile, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is now in the driver’s seat, but as firmly as Purdy was a week ago, coming in at -160 on FanDuel.
During “Monday Night Football’s” heavyweight battle between the 49ers and Ravens, running back Christian McCaffrey passed Purdy on the odds board, now sitting in second at +470.
McCaffrey is getting ton’s of love from pundits, who claim that this is the year for a non-quarterback to grab the award.
Jackson is currently projected to throw for 3,805 yards and 22 touchdowns with eight interceptions while adding 891 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns while losing two fumbles.
Jackson could stake his claim to the MVP on Sunday when the Ravens are three-point favorites at home against the Dolphins, whose quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has the third-best MVP odds at +900.
Should Jackson and the Ravens come up small in this weekend’s gigantic spot to clinch the No. 1 seed in the AFC, McCaffrey would probably have the inside track at the NFL MVP award.

But for now, it is Jackson’s day.
When he won the MVP award in 2019, Jackson threw for 3,127 yards, 36 touchdowns and six interceptions while rushing for an additional 1,206 yards and seven more touchdowns.
His projected 2023 stats would fall in comparison to the historic season he had in 2019, but it’s slim-pickings this year.
McCaffrey is projected to have about 24 total touchdowns if he plays the full 17 games, which would be the most since Ladanian Tomlinson set the single-season record with 31 total scores in 2006.
