Amazing Jerry Odeen Wins Again; Takes Down The Grand Following Four WCOOP Victories
Sweden's Jerry Odeen enjoyed a fruitful World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP) at PokerStars, helping himself to four titles and the topping the Medium Leaderboard. Odeen's winning streak looks set to continue for some time yet, judging by how he triumphed in the $1,050 buy-in The Grand over at PartyPoker this weekend.
The Grand is PartyPoker's highest buy-in tournament of the week. With many high-stakes grinders taking some time away from the virtual felt after the WCOOP and World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online shenanigans, this week's Grand was contested by a compact field of 39 entrants. The small turnout meant only seven of the nine finalists won a slice of the $40,000 prize pool, meaning both Joao Binacolini and Guillaume Nolet navigated their way to the final table yet logged out of their PartyPoker accounts empty-handed.
Daniel Hernstrom was the first Grand finalist to get paid. His seventh-place finish came with $2,499. Brazilian Daniel Nicolini banked a $2,801 sixth-place prize, while Dominik Chmiel, one of two Czech players at the final table, ultimately had to make do with the $3,223 fifth-place payout.
Canada's Foad Larki saw their run end in a fourth-place finish worth $4,134, with The Grand progressing to the heads-up part of the tournament following Juan Carlos Vecino busting in third for $5,687 from their Estonian home.
Odeen and Czech Republic's Michael Sklenicka fought it out for the right to call themselves The Grand champion, and the not-so-minor difference of almost $5,000 more in prize money. Just as he did in four WCOOP events earlier this month, Odeen got the job done heads-up and his hands on the title plus $13,265. Sklenicka raked in an $8,388 consolation prize.

"LRigod94 TaON" Comes Out On Top in the Sunday Party
The Sunday Party is PartyPoker's flagship tournament, costing $109 to enter and guaranteeing at least $100,000 will be won each week. A two-day event, the Sunday Party plays down to the final 16 players on Sunday before resuming on Monday to crown its champion.
All but one of the nine finalists saw their initial $109 investment, perhaps less if they satellited in from as little as $0.01, swell to at least four figures; "donkafterdark" was that outlayer.
"MRJULIUS" and "DFATCAT," obvious fans of the caps lock button, were the next players to bust out before "Sven IIII" and "BooLKa" bowed out, the latter capturing a $3,055 prize.
"Diguiry" fell in fourth yet only won $200 less than third-place finisher "puntmento" thanks to the progressive bounty structure of the Sunday Party. While "Diguiry" claimed $1,417 worth of opponents' scalps, "puntmento" only managed to haul in $206 from the bounty prize pool.
The lion's share of the $100,000 guarantee, namely $13,876 with bounties included, went to "LRigod94 TaON" who outlasted 986 opponents, including runner up, "Zzabbac."

PartyPoker Sends Its SPINS Excitement Into SPINS Overdrive
"roblanot737" Turns $55 into $5,679 in the Super $55
PartyPoker's Daily Legends tournaments grow in size and stature each Sunday, with the Super $55 being one of the most popular events. The Daily Legends and the Supers have limited re-entry,; only two bullets are allowed in total, vastly reduced late registration, and have a blind structure designed to allow the tournament to conclude at a reasonable hour without compromising the average stack size at the business end of the event.
The latest Super $55 drew in 837 entrants who created a guarantee-busting $41,850 prize pool. Half of that sum went into the regular prize pool, and the other 50% was split among each entrant in the form of a progressive bounty.
Those bounties soon add up to significant amounts. "WickedWinzero" fell in sixth but not before helping themselves to $680 worth of bounties. Finishing one place deeper and banking $751 from the bounty prize pool was "benc789."
However, it was the champion, "roblanot737" that benefited from the juicy bounties. They came out on top of the Super $55 and scooped $5,679 made up of a $2,534 main prize pool payout plus $3,145 worth of scalps. GG that person.
