‘Up In The Blue Seats’ Podcast Episode 142: Brian Boyle Looks Back to His Emotional 2018 NHL All-Star Game
There’s plenty going on in Rangers land, including a brutal loss Tuesday in San Jose, Nick Bonino getting waived at Filip Chytil back at practice.
All of that is discussed on the newest episode of the “Up In The Blue Seats” podcast with Brian Boyle, Larry Brooks and Andrew Harts.
What stands out most in this episode though is Boyle looking back to his memorable All-Star Game weekend in 2018 in Tampa.
Six years later, Boyle got emotional looking back at it telling the story on the podcast.
He entered that season learning of his cancer diagnosis in Sept. 2017, after signing with the Devils that summer.
He would go on to have a great year and get the All-Star Game nod, replacing an injured Taylor Hall.
It was his first and only All-Star appearance. Before he even left to go, his son was in ICU getting a surgery at just two years old. He almost didn’t make the trip.
Listen to the pod below or watch to hear the entire story that is truly incredible.
