Ethan Yau Looking to ‘Rampage’ Way Into $1M Big One for One Drop

In the relatively short amount of time that Ethan Rampage Yau has been active in the poker world, hes accomplished more than most grinders will in a lifetime. The popular YouTube vlogger has amassed more than a quarter-million subscribers, hes played for seven figures in Hustler Casino Lives Million Dollar Game, hes won a WPT $25,000 World Championship High Roller, scored a WSOP bracelet, locked up a sponsorship with WPT Global, and racked up more than $2 million in life tournament earnings.

Now, it looks like he has his sights set on finding his way into one of the biggest events on the poker calendar: the upcoming $1,000,000 buy-in WPT Big One for One Drop.

This year, the Big One returns at the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas and it tracks to bring some of pokers elite nosebleed players as well as some of the richest recreational players in the world. WPT Ambassador Phil Ivey was the first player confirmed to play, followed by another half dozen participants including Rick Salomon, David Einhorn, and Talal Shakerchi.

Just the prospect of having Rampage in the field could supercharge the event for fans not only giving them an everyman to root for but perhaps even a sweat. Yau routinely sells action for his higher-profile tournaments sharing in the risk/reward with those looking to go along for the ride. This was the case last December when he took down the WPT $25,000 High Roller $894,240 and it was again true this past weekend when he “got it done” in the $2,200 CAD WPT Global High Roller event in Montreals Playground for $86.600 – the seventh largest live score of his career.

If Yau plans on raising the money, hes got a little under two months to get it together. The WPT Big One for One Drop is set to take place on the tail end of the month-long WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas, running December 18-20.
