Brock Purdy gives blunt response after reporter’s bizarre Lee Harvey Oswald question
Brock Purdy didn’t seem amused when asked about chatter online that he looks like Lee Harvey Oswald, the man responsible for assassinating John F. Kennedy on Nov. 22, 1963.
The 24-year-old San Francisco 49ers quarterback who is getting ready to play in his first Super Bowl against the Chiefs on Sunday was at a loss for words at Super Bowl 2024 on Tuesday, when one reporter asked him about some comparing his physical appearance to Oswald.
“Uh, eh, yeah, I don’t know,” Purdy said in between a few pauses.
When asked if he’s heard about the social media buzz fueling the comparisons, Purdy replied, “I haven’t, that’s my first time hearing it.”

The social media comparisons seemed to start on X with user Josh Chavis, who used to work with the social media company, according to his bio.

Two days after Oswald shot and killed Kennedy while the president was riding in a car with his wife, former First Lady Jackie Kennedy and Texas Governor John Connally local nightclub owner Jack Ruby shot Oswald dead.

Some fans found the reporter’s inquiry about the Purdy-Oswald theory cringeworthy and weird, while others were confused.
Purdy was asked plenty of other questions about the big game, which will take place Sunday, Feb. 11 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
