Peyton Manning issues sarcastic apology to Tommy DeVito’s agent
Peyton Manning is sorry he’s not especially sorry.
During last week’s “ManningCast” simulcast of “Monday Night Football” between the Giants and Packers on ESPN, Eli and Peyton took a jab at Sean Stellato, the dapperly dressed agent of Giants rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito, as Eli said he had sources that Stellato’s nickname in college was “slimy,” and Peyton laughed that it was a “perfect” nickname.
Peyton apologized — sort of — Monday during the Eagles-Seahawks telecast while simultaneously making it clear he didn’t think agents belong on the NFL sidelines.
“We all have New Year’s resolutions,” Peyton, 47, said.
“I#8217;m going to be nicer to magicians. I’m going to be nicer to agents now, although I do think agents have no place on the sideline. There’s no reason an agent should be on the sideline pregame.”
Eli, 42, asked his older brother, “Your agent didn’t come on the sideline?”

“Tom … I said, ‘I signed my contract. Call me in six years when it’s time to renegotiate,'” Peyton said.
“That’s the role of an agent at an actual football game. But I want to apologize to Sean. Seems like a great guy. I apologize to Sean, for making fun of your outfit.”

— Omaha Productions (@OmahaProd) December 19, 2023Tongue-in-cheek, Peyton continued to apologize for slights that were apparently Eli’s fault, such as ruining a magician’s trick and the time his brother infamously gave the camera the double bird in 2021.
Last week, Stellato was taken aback by the brothers’ comments.
I dont know if thats just him being a southern dude. I look at it as elegant, Stellato told WFAN’s “Boomer & Gio” in response to the Manning brothers, who grew up in New Orleans, in defense of his outfit, which included a pinstripe suit and fedora hat.
I dont know where slimy comes frombut if Peyton wants to challenge me in a 40-yard dash, Im more than happy to do that.
