ESPN star Laura Rutledge’s baby improving after being airlifted to hospital
ESPN anchor Laura Rutledge is expressing gratitude that her baby son, Jack, is on the mend after a scary situation over the holidays.
On Christmas Day, Rutledge revealed the harrowing news that Jack had to get airlifted to the hospital with unspecified health concerns, and she checked back in on Wednesday with a positive development.
“We are so thankful for your prayers for baby Jack. Weve felt all of them,” Rutledge tweeted Wednesday.
“I write this grateful for the miracle that occurred for him while also knowing so many of these stories dont have happy endings. Thinking of all of you who have endured far worse. We just received a positive report from Jacks doctors at Connecticut Childrens. No additional surgery is required and his pain has lessened significantly. He has a long recovery ahead but they expect full healing! They praised the work of doctors in South Carolina. Thank you to everyone who has reached out. It sure is good to see this sweet smile again.”

Baby Jack was airlifted in a helicopter from Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC to MUSC Shawn Jenkins Childrens Hospital in Charleston. Both hospitals were so kind and acted fast.
