Why you can’t bet on Taylor Swift props ahead of Super Bowl 2024
Looking to bet on Taylor Swift Super Bowl props but disappointed not to be seeing any?
Sorry, Swifties, just know that you are not the only one.
Thanks to state-by-state regulations, no one will be legally wagering in the United States on how many times they will see Swift on their CBS screen during Super Bowl 2024.
That goes for any of the obscure prop bets that also you may be hoping to wager on.
The general rule of thumb for creating prop bets is that they need to be determined by action on the field and the result shown in the box score,” Tristan Davis, a senior trader for BetMGM Sportsbook, told The Post.
“This makes it difficult to offer prop bets on Taylor Swift since she doesnt play the game.
So unless Swift plans on lacing up some cleats and throwing on some shoulder pads, Swift will just be a bystander rather than a bettable Super Bowl 2024 prop.
This rule of thumb laid out by a BetMGM senior trader would also include the National Anthem, which is not legally bettable in the states.

Now FanDuel, BetMGM, and Bet365, among others, will be putting out some odds on Swift, but those props you may see across social media and on The Post are only bettable in Ontario, Canada, where there is significantly fewer sports betting regulations.
There is some gray area in relation to the Super Bowl Gatorade Color in the United States, though.
Obviously, the Gatorade Color is not listed in a box score at all.
But it is still legally bet in Washington D.C., Illinois, Louisiana, New Jersey, West Virginia and Wyoming.
Like any regulated activity, states decide the legality of any given activity and then place further “nuts and bolts” style restrictions.
Taylor Swift is a major storyline ahead of the 2024 Super Bowl, just not bettable one in The States. Getty ImagesThe Gatorade Color is very controversial in terms of betting and something that most states do not allow.
While the logic is unclear, it appears there is some exemption being given in select states on this offbeat tradition.
As for Swift, many sportsbooks have begun pushing Swift-themed props, mostly just bets on Travis Kelce and other bad puns that somehow relate to the pop star.
