Mattress Mack lost $500,000 on the Texans in latest betting blunder
Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale is becoming an auto-fade whenever he bets on a team.
The Houston-based furniture store operator lost $500,000 on three separate Texans bets, one on Texans moneyline (+345), Texans +9.5, and the Texans to win the Super Bowl (30/1).
Mack placed the bets at Caesars Sportsbook, with two of the wagers coming in at $210,000 on the Texans +345, which would have been worth $724,000, while his bet against the spread came in at $263,000 and would’ve won $239,000.
The smallest of wagers was just $27,000 on the Texans at 30/1 to win the Super Bowl.
This is just the latest of a long string of poor wagers that have manifested for the furniture salesman turned gambler.
In January, Mattress Mack lost $1 million on the Texas Longhorns in the College Football Playoff.
Since nailing a few bets totaling $43 million on the Houston Astros to win the 2022 World Series, Mack has really struggled to get in the win column from a betting perspective.
Of course, the common theme from Mack is that he is really only betting on Texas-based teams.
Mack also bet money on the Astros to win the World Series in 2022, a wager that he saw fall by the wayside in agony from his suite.

Customers who purchased furniture sets by a certain date would pay for it in advance and then receive a full refund if the bet would hit.
This promotional work from Mack is a solid hedge in sales if he does lose the bet, which he has been doing a lot recently.
Many had speculated that Mack had placed even more money on the Texans through ESPN BET.
The sportsbook moved forward with an unprecedented boost on the Ravens -9.5 on Saturday, but reports suggest that Mack did not wager more money on ESPN BET as was speculated.
